Speaking

“Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.”
― Benjamin Franklin

Speaking is both an art and a skill. It is the most important aspect of communication. We speak in different situations – formal, informal, or semi-formal. We speak for various reasons -to exchange ideas, to inform, to persuade, to inspire or motivate, or to argue or entertain.

Speaking can be active as a public speech. It can also be interactive, ceremonial, demonstrative, or informative.

One need not necessarily be an orator, to communicate effectively. It is the ability to focus on the situation and employ the right words, use the right tone and channelize the mind which is of crucial importance. The manner of expression of our thoughts and feelings reflects our personality.

The ability to communicate and speak in an effective manner helps us to be heard and understood from the right perspective. It keeps us healthy and fosters a sense of empathy.

Effective communication involves the use of simple language. Speaking with confidence enables greater clarity of thought and helps in making good decisions.
